V.O.I.D. ZONES

Zones mark successive stages of transition within the VOID project.

ZONE 1: BEYOND

The Beyond marks the first stage of transition into deeper layers of reality.

There is a phenomenon known as lucid dreaming — a dream in which awareness suddenly awakens and you realize you are asleep. It happens at the edge of perception: reality remains intact, but its internal logic begins to fail. There is a sense of quiet wrongness. And in that instant, recognition arrives — everything around you is unreal. Everything around you is a dream.

A dream is only an illusion, so there is nothing left to fear. You gain the courage to influence reality itself, to reshape it at will.

I have experienced lucid dreams since childhood. And it carries a side effect: the waking world begins to feel unreal as well. Reality no longer feels solid or unbreakable. It becomes permeable, unstable — its claim to being the only reality begins to loosen.

Beyond is an attempt to hold this condition. That sensation that something in reality is not quite right. Not broken — just not entirely real. The same quality I first encountered inside a dream, and have never fully left behind.

To reach this state, I photograph at dusk, in fog, at night — during transitional moments when outlines blur and ambiguity opens space for what cannot be seen with the eyes alone.

ZONE 2: THE VEIL

The Veil marks the second stage of transition into deeper layers of reality.

Once, while listening to music, I was walking through an underground passage. Dim lamps overhead replaced one another in sequence. At a certain moment, I noticed that everything around me was moving in a single rhythm — the same rhythm that was in the music. Since then, I have repeatedly observed this pattern.

Music makes visible what is invisible to the ordinary gaze. It tunes perception in such a way that a hidden rhythm begins to reveal itself everywhere: in the flicker of a streetlight, in ripples on water, in one’s own footsteps. This is not metaphor. It functions as a new sensory organ — one that detects the vibration underlying form.

I call this boundary the Veil. It is not a separate layer of reality, but the boundary between the familiar world and what lies beneath it. The Veil has a wave-based structure, organized around a unified rhythm — as perception begins to detect it. It is felt rather than seen: densities shift, forms tremble, space behaves not like solid matter but like a medium. It resembles the surface of water — rippling, reflecting, transmitting, distorting.

The Veil does not disappear under attention. It becomes transparent. And in becoming transparent, it makes itself known — revealing that familiar reality is only an upper layer, sustained by the movement of something deeper beyond the boundary.

Attention creates ripples across it. And within these distortions, the depth beneath begins to be sensed.

The works in this section register the boundary itself — its fluctuations, transparency, and rhythm — revealing how the Veil allows the presence of deeper layers to be felt.

ZONE 3: RITUAL

The Ritual marks the third stage of transition into deeper layers of reality.

Ritual begins with movement. Not ceremony, not symbol — something rawer. A dance with energy: alive, escalating, shamanic in structure and improvisational in form. A state where caution becomes impossible and stopping is not an option.

There is no place for doubt here. No place for analysis. Everything depends on your ability to hold the impulse, to enter the flow, to let force lead you. Perception is no longer directed — it is surrendered. Improvisation becomes law.

This is what I call a dance of force — a dance with the energy of the world itself. The body moves, intensity builds, control loosens. Fear dissolves into motion. And at a certain point, transition stops being something witnessed. It becomes something undergone.

The works in this section emerge from that state — when the familiar world gives way, the Veil is crossed, and what lies beyond begins.

ZONE 4: THE VOID

The Void marks the fourth and deepest stage of transition into deeper layers of reality.

The Void is not emptiness. It is origin — the foundational layer where forms have not yet stabilized and laws are not compulsory. No clear outlines, no familiar geometry, no noise of everyday structure. Only energy and primordial chaos: free, wild, unpredictable. And at the same time — silence.

Time here loses its linear pressure. It does not rush forward or fracture into before and after. Everything exists at once — as potential, as vibration, as a charged field awaiting form. This space resembles a star-filled sky and the black depth of the ocean: dark water from which everything once emerged and to which everything ultimately returns.

The Void is a cradle. A foundational layer upon which higher-frequency worlds rest. It is infrasound — felt before it is heard, known before it is named.

Darkness here is not absence but density: thick, fluid, almost aquatic. Forms are not yet defined, but they are already possible. Vast, unknown, and yet strangely familiar — as if perception recognizes it from somewhere older than memory.

There is fear here. And there is homecoming.

The Void does not reveal itself. It draws you in. Within it, the world ceases to be something observed and becomes something that must be entered.
